There's sometimes a dark twist. People who say "why are you quiet" obsessively tend to be bad at listening. Which causes people to avoid them, especially those who like to speak. normal folks: "hey you must be-" them: "why are you quiet!" That's typical interaction for them. Then they are left with people don't speak, or can't speak fast enough or can't react fast enough to their demands. Instead of feeling grateful that they have some people staying, they just become resentful and unhappy. them: "hi! hi!" new guy: "hi, I'm-" them: "why are you quiet!" Then one day they spot a stuttering guy, name is Jesus, and they will demand Jesus to answer for the crimes of every single person who hurt them. Avoid them or they'll make you be their unpaid therapist and you'll have to listen to them venting about how your stutter is hurting *them*.
