Not bigot, just lack of confidence. (not true for all but for me it is) I use myself as a example. I started new job recently and we were 4 people. 1 regular and 3 newly employees. (new job in the same type of field, Electrical business but slightly different and more difficult) He is gonna teach us all and later can work on our own. I stutter severly when talking to the person teaching us and when talking to the other one who is smart but on The same level of work knowledge as me i tend to both talk normal and stutter. And when talking to the last person who is younger (noob) and have no experience in the field what so ever i can just steam on with no stutter at all coz My mind tells me that im better than this dude so you dont have to feel small.
