I definitely have a little resentment towards my parents they didn’t make me do the exercises my speech therapists sent home when I was a kid. I was 8, in what world was I going to do those on my own if they just left the printouts on the fridge for me. I brought it up with my dad the other day (I’m 22) and he said it was my fault for not engaging with the therapy when I was younger. I think there’s definitely a fine line though, on one hand she might appreciate it when she’s older, I know I would have, but in the other, forcing her to do stuff she has no interest in doing might backfire.
