I'm actually very happy with #1, because most people I encounter really don't know what a stutter is or what it's like to feel that way. I typically find people who do #1 more kinder and patient with my stutter and are also more open to communication about how to best respond to you while you stutter. Think about it from their perspective, you might be one of the first people they met who stutters, and they think it's cool or interesting! That's awesome! Stuttering isn't a bad thing, think of it like someone noticing your old outfit and saying it's cool. Being able to talk about stuttering openly with anyone is so rare, and it's even rarer to find people who understand what's going on with you and are interested about it. Relish in it.
