I think that propanolol can be helpful but not for everyone. It blocks adrenaline so it helps in situatuions that cause nervousness and high stress. The thing is that I would stutter in situations that were not always limited to those above. However, I have heard that some stutters only take propanolol and it works wonders for them. I'm prescribed xanax as well on an as needed basis but it tends to make me feel like a zombie. A non-stuttering zombie, but still a zombie.
