Advice needed for 4 year old Hi there. My son developed a stutter late spring 2023. He had it for about 2 weeks and it went away over night. It came back in September 2023 and is still present so ~6 months. We have been working with a speech therapist since the beginning of December, but have not seen ANY change. It gets so bad that it is almost every other word and sometimes he will replace a word he wants to say with a different word. We were going twice a week and just dialed back to once a week at the beginning of March. We take turns talking, say to talk nice and easy, wait patiently for him to finish (not interrupting), use easy questions that he can answer with a few words, practice slow talking, repeat what he says back to him so that he knows he is heard (ex., if he says, “I would like an applesauce,” we would say, “oh you want applesauce. That sounds yummy”). Should we keep going status quo? Switch therapists? He has developed a good relationship with who he has been seeing so I’d hate to switch. Take a break? Any advice is appreciated!!
