I wouldn't consider talking to my grandma a high stress situation. I'm not even stressed when I talk to her and I stutter like crazy. My mom doesn't even mind me stuttering so I don't have the stress response of being judged, and I still stutter when I'm with her. Something else is happening psychologically. Perhaps I just learned to stutter in front of others because that's what I've been doing since childhood.
