I'm really glad your life is better than it was before! That's awesome. Good luck with the rest of the journey. I'm always hoping to make new friends online, since I really like meeting new people. I get what you're saying about group chats though, I can totally imagine why you'd be more into that. As for why I lurk here.. hmm. Four years ago, I fell in love with a guy who stutters, and I got interested in the topic and started to read this subreddit. I've moved on from that relationship now, but reading your subreddit had become a habit and I've stuck with it ever since. I don't post much, but I've actually made a few long-term internet friends here, so it's been great. I guess I have two reasons for being interested. Firstly, it's a way to occasionally make a friend, and secondly, it's really interesting to learn about and try to understand a perspective that's different from my own. Reading the subreddit means I can empathise with people who stutter in a way I wouldn't ever be able to otherwise. I'll never be able to fully understand it or empathise with it, but I can get a good distance towards that, and understanding other people's internal lives is pretty much the most fulfilling hobby I've ever found. Does that make sense?
