A bit of advice from me, a 40-something person who stutters. First, $600 of debt is nothing. That is the amount I pay on one credit card every month. Debt is a part of life for everyone, regardless of how one speaks. That is not a result of stuttering, it is a result of being human. Don't get me wrong, debt sucks and there are ways to avoid it (I'm sure there is a Reddit forum for that), but again, $600 debt is nothing. When you buy a home and are in debt for hundreds of thousands of dollars, you are going to wish you were 18 again with only $600 debt. Second, if your stutter is so severe that it is affecting your ability to get a job, then stop talking to get a job. Do physical work on your own (mow lawns, paint houses, sell stuff online) or learn a trade (plumbing, electrician, welder, computer programmer, etc.) and work for others. When you interview, do as people that are mute do --they don't talk, the interviewer is aware of that, and other interview options are provided (email, written responses, etc.). Let the company you apply to know that you have a severe stutter, that you'd love to interview with them in a non-verbal way, that you would be proud to work for them, and that you would make their company a better company. In the meantime, get some help for your suicidal thoughts. I'm sure there is a Reddit forum for that too.
