I'm in the military and with the exception of my friends back home, a guy who's stationed at my base that I went through basic training with (who I barely talk to anymore), and a couple of guys that I work with (who I don't see outside of work), I'm pretty much friendless. It kind of bothered and depressed me at first, but I pretty much realized that because of my huge fear to approach or talk to anyone I don't know, it's an unavoidable consequence. Will it change one day? Maybe through a chance meeting of someone who's outgoing enough to initiate a conversation or if I change bases. For now I just cope with it by convincing myself that I'm too busy anyway for socializing or making new friends with new video games, movies and TV shows.
