i’m in nursing school right now and i work as a CNA in a hospital. don’t let your speech determine how you live your life! i totally understand, i want to work in the ICU but im also petrified of not being able to speak when i need to in those high stress situations. but i’m still gonna do it because i know i’ll regret it if i let this hold me back. something i do now with patients and that i recommend doing (if you’re able to) is treating every patient interaction/report/round as an opportunity to practice your speech. consciously trying to be fluent rather than trying to hide your stutter. the way i think about it is “i’ll probably mess it up anyways so why not try to just… SAY it”.
