I don't agree with your last line. And I recommend you listen to that podcast I posted. I agree to parents shouldn't freak out about stuttering, but not because it triggers the stuttering. because it is already latent in you and if it's expressed, it's expressed. The way I heard it said is, genetics loads the gun, environment pulls the trigger. But if it wasn't your mom, it would be something else. But by going to therapy at first notice, you can open up stuttering in the right environment so you understand it. The majority of families who don't know better take you "ignore it, don't pay attention to it" approach and all that does is make you feel alone and in the dark. But keeping it I'm the dark doesn't make it disappear, it just makes it so you more unknown and isolating.
