At no point does anyone make fun of him, or point it out, or expect him to hurry up. They accept it and accept him and just let him talk through it. Also, he's not dumb, he ends up doing very well in college. It's a good metaphor for our lives, really. His Mama could be our personal fears of the outside world, what others think of us, how scary it can seem. But when he ignores his fears (Mama), he succeeds on his own merit, despite the stutter. So yeah, it's a great example. Side topic, but I also really like how Jimmy from South Park is portrayed. No one EVER gives him shit for his speech impediment, and this in a show that makes fun of everyone. In fact, Jimmy is one of the more important characters, and the kids all seem to respect him.
