Does Xanax or Marijuana Help Your Stutter? Wondering if anyone here has tried Xanax or marijuana. How has it affected your stutter? I have tried cigarettes (nicotine) as well as alcohol and had mixed results. Nicotine makes me feel energetic, sharp and awesome! However it makes my stutter worse. Weird right? Alcohol will make me more anxious and depressed. But it doesn't seem to have an effect on my stutter. Although it has a slow down effect on your brain. You might find that you're not as self conscious around people because you're not as aware of your surroundings. So when I start talking in that state, it feels similar to when I'm talking on my own (I don't stutter when I'm alone by myself). So the alcohol doesn't directly affect my stutter, but it fools my brain into thinking that nobody else is around. Does Xanax work like this? What about marijunana? I have heard stories of people becoming paranoid and imagining aliens when they smoke marijuana. I think its safe to say that if you're self conscious.......smoking that might make you even more self conscious and paranoid?
