Im on fluoxetine now for social anxiety and stuttering. The reason for me choosing fluox is that I had great success with Paxil years ago. Both being strong CYP2D6 inhibitors makes me believe Fluoxetine also is going to be effective. Im one week into 20mg Fluoxetine. The first days I felt energetic and very hopeful but today and yesterday have been rough. Im going to stick to it and give it atleast 2 months. I really believe in Fluoxetine so Im continued hopeful even though my initial starting anxiety now has begun. Im hoping to be able to speak with more fluency and confidence. The anxiety part of stuttering is very important for me, when Im confident and feel good I stutter much less. u/youngm71 Have you ever tried stimulants? I get VERY fluent on amphetamines but the crash leaves me almost mute. I myself have a hard time buying this high dopamine = more stutter research. To me, the stutter seems almost entirely connected to my bad anxiety and low selfesteem.
