I used to really wonder about this, but I came to the conclusion that even if they do wind up with a stutter, they'd at least have a parent who could give them advice and just plain *understand* them. I never got any of that because no one else in my family has one, and I know it would have helped me a lot to not just feel like I was "going it alone."
