I've seen an otorhinolaryngologist several times in my life but it never occurred to me to mention my stutter to them. I doubt they would have heard me stutter as I often don't stutter with people when I first meet them. My reason for visiting an ear/nose/throat specialist was for my lousy nose. I've had difficulty breathing through my nose my entire life and even after 2 surgeries about 10 years ago, things haven't gotten much better. I had about 12 sessions with a speech language pathologist earlier this year, my first time ever engaging in speech therapy (I'm 31, lifelong stutterer), and I don't recall her ever making a connection between my breathing and my stuttering. May I ask, pedruchee, do you have difficulty with nose breathing? In as much as breathing is connected to stuttering, and I'm sure it plays a pretty significant role...and in as much as I still have breathing problems to this day, I do plan on going back to the otorhino and getting looked at again.
