I can only speak for my group which has been around for well over a decade. In essence, it's a place of support. A place where you can be yourself, where you don't have to hide or feel guilty or ashamed. You can talk about anything you want to talk about or you can just sit back and listen to other people share. There's no pressure and no obligation. When a new person comes, we're usually curious and we ask them about themselves but if you dont want to talk and just want to listen, you can let them know and they should respect that. But hopefully it can be a place where you can feel comfortable and ok.
