"Smart" isn't really a good word to describe different intelligences. Some people thrive in topics and fields where others simply can't. Some people understand things far quicker than others and don't need to think about it deeply. Everyone takes things at their own pace and that's okay, so to answer your question, no I wouldn't say that is true at all. I've never heard of that either tbh
