Absolutely! Lack of sleep exacerbates stuttering the next day. When you’re sleep-deprived, the speech motor network circuits communicate more slowly and fire less precisely. Therefore, there’s more hesitations, repetitions, blocks etc… Make sure you get quality sleep. I drink chamomile or lemon balm tea 1 hour before bed. Passionflower tea is also great. Do not have caffeine before bed. Minimise screen time too. Try doing the 4-7-8 breathing technique 10 times before going to sleep.
