How effective is speech therapy? Hello, im 23 years old, male, i dont have a severe stutter but it can become and worsen the more anxious i feel and the more i think about it, i have never done any type of speech exercise or met a therapist in my life, my dad is a psychiatrist he mostly have told me that its a conscious alert thing, but i think hes not specialized or whatever because i know he cant do anything but only help me mentally and that mental support can support in better management, but as someone who life has been ruined from stuttering and as someone that hasnt done stuff that they desired to do and stopped yourself without reaching your limit i wanna make it stop, i would have done anything in my power and sacrificed everything only to have the ability to talk freely, its my dream. *If youre interested to see my speech and how i talk you can refer to this video, i have posted a presentation a while back and it can be seen only with link: https://youtu.be/vhY3kYXH\_5k?si=* **-But i have looked into therapy and maybe i wanna give it a try to see if i can better myself and maybe control it more cuz up until now it has only been me myself and i who has been through this journey, no support from third parties, i have managed to get better, gym has helped a lot, exposure and some supplements regarding anxiety, but i dont know how far can therapy get me, so i wanna invest in it but i wanna hear you guys first who have gone through it.** This is an instagram video of this private academy/hospital which treats people with speech impediments and on some of the clips they have posted some before/after versions, now i know thats not final and many stuff contributes to how can someone stutter not and not stutter later, but still as i said, i wanna try it, do you think i can get better?
