My mum doesn't listen to me I'm 17 and have just started speech therapy again (I last went when I was 10) and I've been going for 2 weeks so far. I have to do these speech exercises at home during the week which I am fine with and have been doing them. But every day my mum asks if I've done them in front of the whole family (my dad and my 12 year old sister). I've told her numerous times not to mention it in front of my family (mainly because I don't want my 12 year old sister to know - which is why I've been reluctant to go to speech therapy) but she just doesn't care. I called her to my room to talk about it today and asked her why she keeps doing it, then she explains she does it because I'm not taking it seriously, which is not true because I do multiple practices a day. When I tell her this she says that she is the 'boss' of the house and that I can't tell her what to do. I'm just extremely annoyed and angry because my sister surely knows what's going on now and I feel like a retard. And her doing this makes me want to stop speech therapy because it just feels embarrassing that she tells the whole world about my speech impediment. I just wanted some advice on how to handle the situation?
