I am not too sure since I am also in the process of learning/improving my stutter, but I wouldn't say that just quite yet. Sometimes I feel like I stutter on those hard consonants because I AM talking to fast and getting ahead of myself. Like for the the word "peppers", if you treat the "pe-" as a slow set of mouth movements, having a start and a beginning, it is better than trying to just say the beginning of the word all at once in an explosive manner.
