Hey guys, (and girls) a question about speech therapy. Hey, I am a clutterer. I had different speech disorders when I was a kid, general flowing and pronunciation issues, all which were treated through speech therapy. My biggest issue, however was my cluttering. It was so bad only my sister could understand me. I don't however remember having a stutter. Years have gone since then, I have not been to therapy in a decade, not since I was 11 or 12. I have developed an accent that has come from me working on pronouncing and projecting words in a low, slow voice to stop the clutter. When I get excited though, woah nelly. Shit is unintelligible. I just wish there was something that could fix my chicken scratch handwriting. What has happened though in the last few months, a tiny stutter has developed. It only happened first when I was nervous, or talking the fairer sex, but now it's happening a fair bit more, at random times. It's a small stutter but it's enough to cause an affect on my self esteem, and since it's shown a progression I want to try and nip it in the bud. Has anyone had success with speech therapy as an older stutterer? I know languages are easier to learn at an earlier age, I am fearing it may be the same with disorders. Thanks in advance. Edit:Just got off the phone with my Mother, she said I did have a stutter when I was a child.
