Thanks for the lengthy response, it was very helpful.I was told today from a family friend who is a HR manager at a big company, that you should advertise it at the beginning of an interview as opposed to beforehand (where they'lll be expected to make "accomodations" for you?) still not sure exactly what that means. I've been thinking about insisting doing initial in-person interviews instead of phone interviews, but still not sure about that. I also see what you mean about how I don't want to be seen as the guy who sues employers. Sometimes I feel like I just want to make a point though.I don't know if I've ever been "truly" discriminated against. I guess I don't know that that exactly what look like. It is a hard thing to prove, you're right. In America, it seems like you first have to file with your state Equal Employment Opportunity Commission before you can file a lawsuit. I guess I should consult with a lawyer first. And as a side note: I really don't want to make jokes about my stutter in a professional situation. I've never wanted to make jokes about it. It's not anything that's that funny. It's a sensitive issue I'd like best to hide, at worst to be open about and have it be ignored. As an SLP, I hope you would know this.
