Okie doke! Well, I had a ridiculously bad stutter as a child. So much so that it made me a social recluse from the ages of 12-16. However, literally overnight, I just decided to push myself and go to situations where I wouldn't normally go. For example I used to approach random people in the street and ask for the time. I did this about 10 times every day and gained confidence. Then I started ordering stuff in McDonalds/KFC that I never used to be able to say (i.e. Big Mac) Anyway, so I decided to do a journalism degree that included TV and radio. This helped SO much. It forced me into new situations every day and of course caused a massive improvement in my speech. Yesterday...honestly I decided to do it because I felt my speech has been slacking recently, this gave me something to think about. I didn't prepare anything and went freestyle. It went on about 10 minutes, but felt like 10 seconds. I genuinely feel like I could do anything today. I could never understand how someone who stutters like Joe Biden or Ed Balls (UK politician) could elevate themselves to such a place. But now, I feel like having a stutter is the best thing to ever happen to me. Everything is a challenge and I bloody love challenges. Today, I just feel like I'm on cloud nine. In fact I phoned up a girl I liked and asked her out, just because I knew she'd say yes. It feels amazing.
