That’s great, it sounds like you’re caring for yourself already. And what lead me down the rabbit hole of mindfulness and awareness was stand up comedy, Daniel Quinn’s Ishmael, Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now and Alan Watts. I read Ishmael before going off to college and it stuck with me, fantastic read. Then, I stumbled upon The Power of Now in my school’s library on some free-book shelf. I didn’t read the whole thing, but something in those first 50 pages stuck and after looking online I stumbled upon sound clips on reddit of Alan Watts and looked further, eventually listening to basically anything and everything. That lead to finding people he spoke about, people’s ideas and sayings he incorporated into his show. It’s been called spiritual entertainment. There’s a push and pull to this stuff, for me anyway. It can be called bullshit and I wouldn’t totally disagree, but if it helps it’s not so bad. How much you take away and use practically is what’s important if it’s positively charged and genuine, eh?
