Sometimes the tool is putting a word or syllable in front of the main word. I cannot, for the life of me, say “Italy” (or similar word) alone (beginning of a sentence) under any condition - tense or relaxed state. If I say and think about Italy as part of a larger word - it helps more than 50% of the time. So: “TheItaly” trying to say “The” softer or faster. Some times it is all about rehearsal before hand. This is time consuming however and even more frustrating when it fails. Other times it’s monitoring my breathing and getting an otherwise choppy word/phrase out on a fluent exhale when the moment is right in a conversation. Square breathing circuit diagram in my head. I’m a covert stutterer, but have given voluntary stuttering (exposure therapy) a try on the advice of my SLP. Hope this helps!
