Is this UK only? Lol I lost a job offer in 2010s when the boss very suddenly walked me into the facility my DAF emitted the loudest audio feedback I have ever heard due to the sound of machines.  I was told they can't "accommodate assistive hearing devices in this work environment" also "no audio equipment whatsoever" and they showed me the door! Absolutely did not care to hear that it was an appliance I used to the interview and would not use daily. I would have had to pay actual money up front if I wanted a lawyer to look at that or any of the other hundred times employers have said the most out of pocket things to me  The whole point of DAF was supposed to be no one noticing my stutter in an interview. It was hard enough to act human with the chipmunk echo in my ear... If I had to explain the device in my ear it would have put me at the same disadvantage as introducing my stutter just after my name.  Someone even told me I should just wear it without batteries and "just pretend to be deaf and people will actually feel bad for feeling inconvenienced and childish"  I believe it could work on the fluent population for sure... but I could not in good conscience take on another disability which I do not truly have unfortunately. For so many reasons.
