I remain convinced that I don't like ketchup today because when I was a kid I could never ask for it at a restaurant. That's OK—I mean I really don't like ketchup anymore. If I find something I want that my block wouldn't let me say outright, I'll lead in with something else, like >I'll have theeeeeeeee.... caccitori. >I'm going to go with aaaa.... tomato sandwich. Or whatever. Slowing down the initial release of the hard consonant—and making it appear as if I'm just deciding at that moment—helps immensely. I know there's some pushback around here against overtly compensating, but it's helped me out.
