There are speech therapists that stutter. Stephan SLP is a good example. Most SLP’s don’t do much fluency work and stuttering isn’t an easy area to address. Therapy isn’t linear— Stephan SLP is excellent—you can follow his program independently online. Otherwise a stuttering expert would be a good way to go. I wouldn’t call speech therapy “a scam” but I would say it is not all that effective unless a therapist with expertise is chosen.
