Thing is, if it does help, you can really only take it occasionally because benzodiazapines, the group of drugs Xanax is in, are habit-forming. If you start taking it every day, soon you will need more to have the same effect, and then more again, etc. You do not want to get into that trap....addiction. But, if you are able to use it only occasionally, it could help in certain situations.
