promise you it helps. i really struggle with my sleep and meditation helps a ton. i used to always have music playing in the background or a youtube video throughout the day, never allowing me to be alone with my thoughts. it made it impossible to sleep because as soon as i closed my eyes and the distractions were gone i would toss and turn, processing all my thoughts that happened throughout the day. just try to be mindful throughout, don't have to take time out of your day to mediate, just make sure you're not deliberately ignoring your own thoughts.
