Any tips or strategies? Hello fellow stutterers, This year I’m going a new school, and I’m kind of worried about how I’m going to approach this. In the past I’ve had trouble making friends with my stutter, and now because I haven’t been to in person school in a year and a half due to COVID I don’t know how I’m going to deal socially. (I’m also nervous about this because of the spark in socail anxiety I’ve had and how it can amplify my stutter). One of the main things I’ve been told before by my past classmates when they don’t get why I stutter are things like “why do you repeat yourself” or they finish my sentence for me and it’s really annoying. My sister told me that I should disclose it while meeting them, but I think that would be awkward. It’s just typically when I stutter I move my hands to help me get through a word or my face moves weirdly because I have a word block. I’m just afraid it’s going to be unnecessarily awkward, and I have no good way to really approach it. Overall, if you guys have anything I could use feel free to tell me.
