No, it's controlled. It depends on the situation like if I am with family I don't do it unless it's something important to say. I always do it when I am ordering food or talking on the phone. I was told by doctors when I was younger ”my mind goes faster them my mouth can keep up” I feel like there's definitely a psychological side to stuttering. My mother was very domineering: abusive. I always wonder if that played a role in my stuttering developing. I saw a quote from the ” monster project” the doctor in charge of it speculated ”a child's stutter did not start in the child's mouth, but a mother's ear” I'm on a lot of psych meds and my stuttering has almost gone away. C
