* Extend your hand, grab theirs, and use both your confidence and theirs to say, "Hi, I'm Emily." or " Hey, I'm Emily." Break the habit of stumbling over the same words, by randomly starting with an extranious word. I know your pain well. I suffered with the pain of worrying before I even spoke for too many years. I swear by a skin touch. Theirs or yours, doesn't matter. Squeeze their hand, or squeeze you own. Believe that this will work, and it will. I've got a comfortable hand clasp that I've described before. After analyzing what I've created, it appears that the soft spot between my thumb and index finger on my dominant hand, pumped with the other thumb and index finger knuckle, gives me a confidence, prompting and cadence to speak when I'm about to falter. I gasped before speaking from 6-25 years old. I've never had speech therapy, but decided that I didn't want to suffer any more. I'm 62, and haven't had a speech impediment in over 30 years now. I want this to work for every stutterer in the world, cuz' it worked for me. **Please try it**. You can squeeze out the start of each word you want to say , or just keep pumping (softly) while you speak. I have no idea why it works. Whether it's that spot, the interuption of pumping while talking, or just something I wanted so bad that I had to have it. Practice every day. That's the easy part when you're a stutterer. God bless you all.
