I understand this. With kids you never know what’s going on. At this age they also don’t like to share their troubles. Studies may have saved my son … he is so focused on grades that the surrounding noise does not bother him much. We travel A LOT. We have cousins, uncles, aunts who live close to us. While my son does sometimes say that I don’t have many friends, he quickly gets over it .. so mama this is due today etc.
