The confidence definitely doesn't come first but you will have these little glimpses of confidence here and there. You may have a day where your fluency and stuttering is nonexistent and you talk great. Those are the days that kept me going, granted, I could have had a span of a week of terrible conversations and being stressed therefore stuttering more. I would recall that one day and how good it felt and just push through it all. The confidence i think is the last part to come. I knew i was confident in my speech when i could approach a woman in a bar, cold, and strike up a conversation. Keep working at it everyday, and I'm always available for chats on how to deal with specific issues.
