Hello, I recently found this subreddit due to my soon to be wife telling about it and not being the most tech person i never thought to look on reddit. lol I am 34 and have stuttered all my life. I have severe blocks and at times almost bite my tongue so hard that it bleeds. I am somewhat not your typical stutterer though, at least in my opinion. I have been a Sheriffs Deputy for the past 14 years and have to communicate to people in a variety of ways all day long. Over the years i have found ways to do my job live my life that makes it as easy as possible. I have recently started researching stuttering again because my soon to be wife has inquired about it, in an effort to get to know the real me, and I realized that I really don't know much about it. I did therapy for most of my childhood and even went to Hollins research institute then i was 18 but thats the extent of my knowledge. I have met a few other people over the years that have also stuttered but never been part of a community. I am very happy to have found this sub and look forward to reading about other peoples perspective and life experiences.
