This is because your subconscious mind created a condition: "It makes sense to speak (more) fluently when I repeat or when dad says it". The challenge now is, to make a new condition: "It makes sense to speak fluently in all situations". I can create conditionals like you, but I was never able to do it for all situations. However, I did try this exercise: \- don't use any technique or tip \- do this: 'choose' to speak fluently \- it took me a couple of days or 1 week I believe, I after that period, I was able to say "I choose to speak fluently now". I'm a heavy stutterer, and with this 'choose method' I speak fluently for 60 minutes or longer until my instinct wants me to stop because of the tendancy to cling to a stutter habit. So if the rest doesn't work, you can try my choose method where you visualize yourself as a non-stutterer, acting as if you are one and don't think like a stutterer (like you always do). Every time you speak, observe your thoughts and feelings and ask yourself: is this really how a non-stutterer thinks/feels? Anyway, give it a go
