Maybe... or not. I make my students give a short presentations every year ("because if I can do it..."). This year I had an handsome, athletic senior absolutely terrified by the prospect of presenting in front of a class of puny freshmen. I tried working him through it (giving him different options for doing the presentation), but something about being in the front of the room (even with just me in the audience) was very intimidating. Everyone's got their own baggage, and comparisons can be poison to good relationships of any variety.
