In our country, to join the Indian army as an officer, we have to pass a service selection board interview (i.e SSB interview). Now since the interview is itself a 5 day process, we have to stay at army facility and get rigrously tested there. The first test is the screening test in which we are given a picture and a story has to be made on that. Later we narrate our story to a group of other candidates and then there is a group discussion in which we have to clearly speak and influence the group as very less time is allotted to the whole group to get a single story out of a bunch of stories. IN A Nutshell, it's a fish market scenerio. Everyone is wanting that their point is heard. Being a stutter, I am put in such a demanding situation and have to act accordingly. Shit goes south real fast when I stutter and the assessor sees it as a hesitation and thinks that I am a coward. This is what fucks me up. Fyi... I gave 4 attempts until now spanning around 8 years and I got screened out every single time.
