You are not alone. When I was in school, I asked my therapist to write a note so I would not have to do public speaking. She would not write a note. She thought it would be good for me to do the presentations anyway. I was so mad, but I did the presentations. Looking back, I am so happy I did them instead of hiding from them. I was upfront about my speech and self disclosed. I told them that I stutter, and that it takes me a little longer to get the words out and to be patient with me. Regarding your teachers, I am shocked that they laugh. That is so unprofessional. Aside from that I would think a teacher would have more understanding of some thing like Stuttering. I would definitely go to somebody above your teacher to discuss that issue. What a terrible example to set in front of the other students. Also, please contact the NSA, the National Stuttering Association. I highly recommend attending their yearly conference. Since I attended my first conference years ago, I have become so much stronger, confident and accepting of my stutter, and I have met some of the most amazing people. You can call or email them and explain the situation. They will steer you in the right direction and give you some advice. They are wonderful people and understand Stuttering. Feel free to message me if you want to talk more about this. I believe in you. I know it’s hard right now but I promise you things will get better. Be kind with yourself. Treat yourself like you would treat a friend who stutters, with patience and kindness. ❤️🙏
