I am a Toronto-based speech therapist and I can assure you that braves won't impact stuttering. Stuttering is, according to current research, genetic and rooted in connections within the brain. Braces only impact your mouth so whether your braces come on or go off, the stuttering won't be impacted. Braces can, however, make your speech temporarily sound slurred or mumbled. -Melissa
