Saphris- wonder drug or parlor trick? There is a new clinical trial being conducted on a drug called Saphris. It's intended use is for the treatment of schizophrenia, but it's also being studied as a treatment for Stuttering. I was able to talk my doctor into prescribing it for me. And WOW! I'm taking 10mg, twice a day, and it has reduced my Stutter about 85%. I counted how many times I Stuttered a week prior to taking the medicine and then counted the words I Stuttered on two weeks after beginning Saphris. And on a given day It's anywhere 75%-95% improvement. Some days my Stutter is hardly noticeable at all. Speaking that fluently is saying a lot because my Stutter is fairly severe. The biggest improvement is that I can finally say my last name!!! I don't know if this level of fluency will last or if this is just some temporary "trick" that will wear off. Either way, I just thought I should people know about my experience with Saphris.
