Does my dad have a stutter? This has been something I've been wondering about for a while. My dad is a great speaker, in the sense that he is pretty eloquent and inspiring. He often gives speeches/seminars to people. But for a while I've been wondering if he has a stutter? I hear it often when he's speaking to a group of people, on the phone, or in meetings -- and sometimes in conversation between us. The way he talks is he might repeat words over again, for example, if I was hearing him speak to someone on the phone, it'd likely sound like this; "And, and and, that exactly right, that's w--what, what I was saying. So--so, so, so basically what it is, r--right, is it's--it's..." Could this be a form of a stutter? Or is it just how he talks? It doesn't bother me of course, but I wanted to find out because sometimes it sounds like he's struggling to get his words out. I'm not even sure if he's noticed it. Also, is it be something I should point out? (Not in a rude way, of course). Or would that be insensitive? I'm just thinking if he is actually struggling with his speech, maybe someone should let him know that it might be a stutter, so that he could learn to fix it. Thanks!
