According to current research, those of us with a higher dopamine baseline could benefit from dopamine antagonist (blocking) medication. This is the type of medication Dr Gerald Maguire has been testing, called Ecopipam, and before that he tested one called Pagoclone. There are others called Risperidone and Abilify etc… You would need to consult your doctor and get a referral to a Psychiatrist to get these prescriptions, as they’re not specifically designed for stuttering but are often used off label for it. Always consult your doctor before considering any prescription medication.
