Nope, I also don't stutter when I'm talking to my 2 yo old daughter or the dog. In my opinion stuttering is a small neurophysical "glitch" , somehow when we were young we could have made a problem about it because some said for example: "Can you tell normal?"  From that point you think you will start to make a problem of it, and then the speech therapists you have to go to will make your brain think you have a problem. Then the anxiety starts to come in which affects your speech even more. Recently I went to a new speech therapist (I am almost 40) and she told me that when parents come with their child, she will simply tell them it is okay to talk a little bit different. Especially it is been told to the parents. Not making a fuzz about it and the chance is greater that it will not develop badly.
