Hi Margaux, first of all I'm so sorry that your grandparents said something so rude and hurtful. Your stutter shouldn't be a reason for you not to follow your dreams and study subjects that you're interested in. While I've personally never been blackmailed like this before, there have been some situations where my family put pressure on me due to my stutter and making me question myself and my future goals. And I'm also a 100% sure that a lot of other people have similar experiences so know that you're not alone in this! Now I would suspect that your grandparents saw that as a way of trying to motivate you to work on your speech? I'm not quite sure but I would encourage you to speak with them and tell them how that made you feel and what your fearing since then. Explain to them that it's not easy to get rid of a stutter and maybe even search for some ways of treatment together (if you have options environmental and financially wise) I wish I could help you more but you should definitely vent about that with your friends and other people you trust! Anyway I really hope that everything works out between you and your grandparents and that you'll be able to study chinese and art in the future~ Meilleurs salutations de l'Allemange^^
