TBH, I think your experience as a PWS going to speech therapy is actually very common. It’s because most have almost no training in treating dysfluency. I truly think that it’s better to do nothing than send a kid to an SLP who doesn’t specialize. I’ve been to a few and even knew a few personally. If I didn’t have *repetitions in front of them*, they just flat out didn’t believe it was a huge personal struggle for me. Then, they told me to practice articulations, and to “take a big breath in”. Both things that are completely useless or just make it worse, leaving me feeling like a failure/liar.
